60 Seconds with WITS MidAtlantic Speaker — Amy Gawronski Zuccaro
Amy Gawronski Zuccaro is the Head of Design Operations at SAP.io. Her session at WITS Northeast is Empathy for the User: Why Research Matters.
Why is speaking at WITS important to you?
WITS is the only conference I’ve ever been to that features all women speakers. I love that it supports TechGirlz instead of being a for-profit event. It’s also a great event for getting to know different people from all stages of their careers.
What inspires you?
Being able to help my team produce amazing work that impacts people’s lives.
Most useful article you’ve read in the last month?
Playmobil’s Plan to Infiltrate Your Workplace (https://www.washingtonpost.com/magazine/2019/12/23/vikings-pirates-knights-inside-playmobils-plan-reshape-your-workplace/?arc404=true) — Great article about using toys to work through complex team issues, and thinking in new ways. Also hits on Playmobil’s need to reinvent themselves in a less that ideal market for them.
Tell us something about your session
My session is about stepping back and seeing your product through your users’ eyes, because, ultimately, they have the only opinions that matter.
What other sessions or speakers are you most excited to see?
The Remote Team Toolkit. My team is distributed all over the world, and finding ways to make sure everyone is engaged and feels like they’re part of the action is always a challenge.
