60 Seconds with WITS MidAtlantic Speaker — Chelsea Klukas
Chelsea Klukas is a Product Design Manager at Oculus. Her session at WITS MidAtlantic is The Future of Work: Designing VR for Productivity, Collaboration, and Inclusivity.
- Why is speaking at WITS important to you?
Communities for women to learn from each other and empower each other are important. I’m looking forward to the connections that will be made within the community.
- What inspires you?
I’m often inspired by other amazing women in the tech community, as well as in AR/VR and the maker community. I’m very inspired by collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Most useful article you’ve read in the last month
I can’t think of anything off the top of my head: I read a lot of things and they start to blend together!
- When you were a kid what was your dream job?
I always knew I wanted to do something creative. I remember wanting to design things like the signs on restaurants that would be seen by lots of people every day. And my dream came true, and I did many many restaurant branding projects in my early career as a freelance designer!
- Tell us something about your session.
I’ll be talking about how VR can be used to help people be more productive and the vision for reducing commute times to work through the use of VR collaboration. I loathe commuting, and will do anything to avoid it.
- What other sessions or speakers are you most excited to see?
I’m excited to hear the talk on remote work by Amy Cliett and Alicia Park, since it is very relevant to what I’m working on!
