Heather Luna is a DevOps Engineer at BriteCore. Her session at WITS Northeast is Alexa… a talk about developing Alexa skills.

Why is speaking at WITS important to you?

Speaking at WITS is important to me because of what WITS represents — talks that cover a wide array of topics and a safe space to network with other women in technology. Also, all proceeds from the event go to support TechGirlz! Their mission to empower young women to get involved in technology is near and dear to my heart as that’s a personal mission of mine.

What inspires you?

Seeing women succeed and slay day after day is what keeps me inspired to keep trying to do the same.

Most useful article you’ve read in the last month?

Digital Ocean’s documentation on setting up a Jupyter notebook

When you were a kid what was your dream job?

Believe it or not, when I was a kid, my dream job was to be a marine biologist.

Tell us something about your session.

My session is for anyone, whether you code or don’t code! I’ll also have a few giveaways!!

What other session/speaker are you excited to see?

I am in a 100% remote position now so I am looking forward to The Remote Teams Toolkit talk from Amy Cliett and Alicia Park!

Register here to see Heather and the other amazing women in tech speaking at WITS Northeast in Philadelphia on April 23 and 24, 2020.
