Rachel Beard is a Security Principal Technical Architect at Salesforce. She is leading a workshop at WITS Northeast on how to Automate A Business Process with Point And Click Tools.

Why is speaking at WITS important to you?

  • I enjoy the inspiration and camaraderie of the Women in Tech Summit. I am excited to be a speaker this year and empower women to add process automation to their Salesforce orgs, so they can save time by eliminating routine tasks.

What inspires you?

  • I am inspired by women who are very aware of their passions and have the courage and drive to make their dream goals a reality.

Most useful article you’ve read in the last month

  • Not an article, but I am reading Dare to Lead by Brene Brown right now and loving it!

When you were a kid what was your dream job?

  • To be a mom! I never really considered that I could be a mom AND something else too! I am so proud to work in a tech role that enables me to have the amazing career journey while prioritizing time spent with my kids.

Tell us something about your session

  • I’m excited to deliver this hands on workshop about Salesforce process automation. You’ll help reduce errors and save time, by eliminating routine tasks. You’ll improve communication and transparency by automatically adding chatter, approvals, and tasks. My goal is to enable you to walk away from this workshop empowered with automation super-tips to slim your backlog fast.

What other session/speaker are you excited to see?

  • I’m looking forward to Digital Discrimination: Cognitive Bias in Machine Learning. We carry a great responsibility when we shape the world through code.

Anything else you would like to share?

  • When not focused on security, my other favorite topic is diversity and how to be an ally. I’m interested in learning more from other allies at WITS.

Register here to see Rachel and the other amazing women in tech who are speaking at WITS Northeast in Philadelphia on April 23 and 24, 2020.
