Ghazal Qureshi is the CEO of UpBrainery. Her session at WITS Midwest is The next big thing: Rethinking the K12 classroom for future workforce preparation.

I am a computer scientist that has spent 25 years managing and implementing computer software. Having a passion for education, coupled with my profession, and love for my children, opened up a world of entrepreneurship, I founded IDEA Lab Kids. I grew this educational
technology company to over 107 locations worldwide. I am well-known in the commercial education space, particularly in the area of incorporating STEAM learning with Project-Based Learning. My expertise in Education and Technology led me to found UpBrainery Technologies
which bridges the gap in educational delivery with an AI-built learning platform. UpBrainery’s Career Exploration and Readiness technology platform uses AI to understand the interests and learning styles of each student and helps align their interests and aptitude with the careers of
Today and Tomorrow. With built in badging, micro-credentialing and teacher tools, we make it easy to implement in any classroom.

Speaking at the Women in Tech Summit (WITS) is an incredibly exciting opportunity for several reasons:

Firstly, WITS is the only tech conference with all-women speakers. As a speaker, this provides a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise and perspective on the latest trends and issues in tech to a diverse audience of women in business and technical roles. This exposure can help
increase your visibility within the tech community, as well as potentially lead to new business opportunities or collaborations.

Secondly, WITS is a platform that values education, inspiration, and connection. By sharing your insights, experiences, and knowledge with attendees, you can contribute to the growth and
development of other women in tech, while also building relationships with peers and colleagues. This can create a supportive network of like-minded individuals who can offer mentorship, advice, and encouragement throughout your career.

Lastly, speaking at WITS can be personally fulfilling. By taking the stage and sharing your story, you can inspire others and help break down barriers for women in tech. This can be a powerful
experience that can help you grow as a leader, while also positively impacting the industry as a whole.

Overall, speaking at WITS can be an incredible opportunity for women in tech to share their expertise, connect with other professionals, and make a difference in the industry.

Speaking about my session, “The next big thing: Rethinking the K12 classroom for future workforce preparation”, it focuses on exploring innovative approaches to transform the traditional K12 (kindergarten through 12th grade) classroom setting in order to better prepare
students for the evolving needs of the future workforce.

Talking about future workforce preparation is exciting because it allows us to explore the potential opportunities, challenges, and innovations that lie ahead. The world is evolving at a rapid pace, driven by technological advancements, automation, and shifts in the global
economy. Discussing future workforce preparation enables us to anticipate these changes and envision how they will shape the job market. It's exciting to explore the emerging industries, skills, and roles that will be in demand, as well as the potential impact on education and training.

Future workforce preparation requires us to think creatively and challenge traditional norms. It involves developing new teaching methods, curriculum design, and learning environments that foster the skills and competencies needed in tomorrow’s job market. Exploring innovative
approaches and adapting to the evolving needs of the workforce is both thrilling and essential for staying ahead in a rapidly changing world.
By discussing future workforce preparation, we have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and communities. Empowering individuals with the necessary skills, knowledge, and adaptability to thrive in the future job market can lead to greater economic
opportunities, social mobility, and personal growth. The potential to positively impact society by preparing the workforce of tomorrow is truly exciting.

Join my session to hear about the fast progress in Educational Technology and why we need to start over. We must better prepare the future workforce to actively pick occupations that match their interests and personalities to reduce investment time and resources. The audience will learn how focusing on creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving instead of rote learning and memorization can help us bridge the workforce gap for #Careers2030 and reduce the education equity gap.

Looking at the other session at WITS, every session has something to offer for a greater cause, and I am enthralled by the wonderful insights that these women will be bringing to the table. There is something about the rising technological advancements that is engulfing me to plunge
into this bandwagon and hear all that I can grasp into a foldable digest to boost my purpose, i.e., My company — UpBrainery Technologies. There is something in every session that offers excellence and progression to society. I’m really looking forward to being a part of this greatness.
