Why is speaking at WITS important to you?

WITS is a global platform that presents women from diverse backgrounds with opportunities to bring forth their voices and ideas, and share them with the world. I have enjoyed and learnt so much from listening to other women in tech speak about things related to career development. These ideas have greatly helped me in my own journey. It’s been a dream for me to speak at this forum, and I’m honored to be a part of it this year.

What or who inspires you?

I’d like to think that I can draw inspiration from everything and everyone around me. I’ve worked with many hard working people, and had friendships with wonderful individuals- and they have all inspired me in ways big and small. But if I had to pick a few specifically I would say that I’m greatly inspired by my mother’s work ethic, and I’m grateful for and inspired on a daily basis by my partner who is the smartest and kindest person I know.

Most useful article you’ve read in the last month

Not an article but a book I recently finished reading called The Biggest Bluff where the author takes us through her journey of learning to play Poker from zero. She masters the game and also learns some very valuable life lessons along the way.

When you were a kid what was your dream job?

I always wanted to grow up to be a teacher, because I’ve had some wonderful teachers and mentors growing up and even in my career. While I didn’t go the traditional teaching route, I do participate in several mentorship programs and coach young professionals who are new in their careers in tech.

Tell us something about your session

I’m going to be talking about Resilience in the face of layoffs. With the current economy and layoffs happening all around us, things can seem uncertain and extremely scary. But we can use these difficult experiences to our advantage and learn valuable lessons on how to face them gracefully. Having gone through these experiences myself I will talk about some ways that I coped and maybe these will help you too!

What other sessions or speakers are you most excited to see?

I’m excited to hear Jacqueline Pan talk about ‘From IC to Team Lead in Five Years’ since that is the same career path I’m pursuing.

Hear from Krithika and the other amazing women in tech speaking at WITS MidAtlantic in Washington, D.C. on March 23 & 24. Learn more and Register at https://womenintechsummit.net/wits-midatlantic-2023/
