Meet the Speaker — Preeti Gupta
Preeti Gupta is a Vice President at Brown Brothers Harriman. She is leading a session at WITS Southeast titled “DevOps for Database — What, Why & How?”.
Why is speaking at WITS important to you?
I feel passionate about increasing female representation, especially in the technical space, and do my bit by sharing my knowledge and experience with others by speaking at a conference such as WITS. Speaking here has always been a dream of mine, and I’m truly honored to be part of it this year.
What or who inspires you?
Previously, I believed giving back meant only financial contributions. However, Michelle Obama’s words, “Don’t say what can I do, do what you can do,” inspired me to explore how technologists can contribute. I discovered a multitude of opportunities. I realized I could share my technical skills to inspire girls in STEM. Organizations like ‘TechGirlz,’ and ‘IBM organized Call for Code’ caught my attention.

When you were a kid what was your dream job?
Interestingly, I didn’t have a particular job in mind. All I ever wanted while growing up was to achieve self-dependence, earn a living, and give my absolute best in whatever field I chose.

While DevOps has significantly enhanced software delivery, one crucial element often overlooked is The Database. Join my session to explore treating database code like application code and bridging the data gap in DevOps

Leveraging the power of your voice to drive value, stimulate innovation, and embrace change by Jasmine Suarez. In this session, I aim to discover how to ‘find my voice’ even when faced with adversity.
